Carles Rodrigo Monzó
How did you get into photography? I have always liked to make photos on trips or to keep memories, but everything began with a workshop of developing in black and white when I discovered that I really liked photography so much and I started to search on the Internet to try to learn more, and soon I started to dedicate more and more time to this passion. Later I bought one reflex, until then i only had a very basic digital camera.
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? I guide myself by the emotions, when something moves me artisticly my brain turns on.
Your favourite film and why? Impossible to take the best favorite, but one of my favourites, a part of Eros, The Hand, by Wong Kar Wai, the way the director represents the erotism, the photography mixed with de marvellous OST and the characteristic aesthetic of Wong Kar Wai. For me it is just perfect, the one i like the most from Wong Kar Wai.
Your favourite photographer/artist? It’s impossible to pick just one… Mark Borthwick, Ryan McGinley, Juergen Teller, Lina Scheynius….and more…
Latest obsession? Flowers, plants…romanticism.
If you could speak another language what would it be? French, Japanese or Mandarín, I really like these cultures.
